mercury 7.5 1976?

I just got a free Mercury 7.5 hp outboard off craigslist yesterday and I'm trying to figure out what year it is. I have scoured the motor and found two numbers. The first is from the serial plate and the number is 4315022 the second is on the upper leg and is 857596. The only info close to these numbers is this: 75 (7,5) 4314385 - 4691221 1976 does this mean that my number falls inbetween this range? Or is it a case of one or the other? Thanks for the help!

I forgot mention the decal is Blue...

That is a range of numbers. It is a 1976.
