mercury 7.5 coil? 1985

hi guys, i think one of my coils has had it on my 1985 7.5hp brownband merc, any ideas what the part number is or if any other types will fit this engine? i 've seen a few advertised on ebay where they mention they're universal or will fit all mercs up to a certain point. dont want to get the wrong one!!

or if poss, any ideas where i can buy a new one online from a reputable place?

p.s. Use iboats on your parts query. They have a nice parts spreadsheet that shows by year/hp what parts you need. Plus they have access to multiple vendors. You can either buy it from them or get the part number to enter into Ebay.

cheers mark, yeah read the other post. its gotta be a dead coil as i've tested it with an ohm meter after watching a vid how to do it on youtube. cheers for your patience with the thread, its hard to explain in text. just glad i've finally found the problem as i've spent the past couple of weeks taking it apart and putting it back together again
