Mercury 7.5hp, need help

I have a 7.5hp merc, having a hard time starting it. Plugs are new last year. Once running, it runs rough, its seems like its slipping or something. When its in use with the boat it seems like the rpm are all over the map. Any help or insight would be great.

you might have two problems. The carb might need to be cleaned for the idle problem and the prop might have a bad hub that is slipping.

I added Carb cleaner to the fuel/oil mix. Or, do I need to take it apart and soak it? Is a hub assembly easy enough to replace?

What bill j said. except if your are going to remove the carb, you might as well rebuild it. the complete kit @ a MERC shop about 50./60. bucks??? Maybe less.
Never rebuilt a prop. the prop shop does that for me. But does sound like a spun prop. By the way when was the last time the water pump was changed?

The pump had been changed 2 yrs ago. What is the avrg cost to repair a "spun prop"?
