i am changing the ignition switch on a mercury 700 70 horse approx 1979 serial number 4575350<br />the old switch wiring is<br />red wire to A<br />orange wire to E<br />yellow wire to b<br />white wire to G<br />black wire to<br />the new switch is<br />battery<br />magneto<br />ignition<br />m<br />start<br />choke<br />i hooked it up and the engine cranked but would not start i hooked the old one up and it worked fine i needed to change the switch because of the length of the threads if any one can help i would be greatful
