Hi all
I've got a 1987 70hp and want to convert it to a 90hp. From all the research I've done the only difference in these motors is the carbs induction manifolds and reeds plus a different timing setting. Am I correct here? The crankshaft and piston assemblies are all the same but when I look up the cylinder block and crankcase assemblies there are different numbers why is this? Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Is what I'm trying to do possible or am I missing something?

Probably porting in the block. Two stroke power tuning is done with carbs, intake and exhaust tuning (porting) and ignition curves. A different block requires a different part number. Different porting means a different block.
