Mercury 75 Four cyl

G'Day.<br />I have a 75 Merc 4 Cyl 1984.<br />The motor starts OK and idles OK in neutral, when the motor is put in gear the revs drop considerably, from 1000 RPM to 500, If you can keep the motor going then it runs great at high speed. Compressions OK, Carbs OK, Ignition OK. have heard that the lab seals on the reed blocks can cause this problem, any suggestions?

Slow your idle timing down then set the rpm by adjusting the idle speed stop.<br />that should help.<br />Rex A. H.
