I have a classic fifty that runs perfectly, only one issue: while the 'trim' always works fine in the 'down' direction, its operation in the 'up' direction is unpredictable. Sometimes it will come up and sometimes it won't. When it does answer the up button, it does so quite normally. There is no pattern to when it works and when it doesn't.
I suspect either the button contacts up on the control, or the solenoid that I think is part of the tilt stuff under the motor.
It would be a great help to have a wiring diagram of the motor and control. Short of that, I see that the wires from the trim mechanism feed into the motor, and of course, the control wires also feed into the motor. Can someone help with the identitiy of the wires; and is there a relay in addition to the solenoid? If there is such a relay -- used to power the primary side of the solenoid -- where is it located? As you can see, a wiring diagram would be great, but any help much appreciated. Harold in Tallahassee, FL.
