Hello Everyone. I was wondering if someone could help me out with some information. I have a problem with my 2003 Mercury 90hp Series 1. The number is OT 605708. I think I have a fuel system problem. The motor will do fine on the muffs but will die or not even start on the water. I had the carbs taken out and cleaned last Monday. They installed them back in and started it right up. It did not turn off when they opened the throttle a bit. So, this weekend I take my wife to the bay and it started right up at the ramp. I was idling and going real slow waiting on my wife to get back to the ramp so I could pick her up and it just died on me. It would not turn on. After about 10 minutes it finally turned on and I was able to pick my wife up. We went out about 300 yards and decided to anchor. I turned it off and about 10 min later we decided to move to a new spot. Well for the next hour I tried to turn it on without any luck. I had to try the trolling motor to get back to the ramp. Halfway there I tried once again and turn it on and it started. I made it to the ramp to try to load up the boat well once there it died on me again while waiting on a boater to finish loading. So when my turn came I had to load it up using the trolling motor. And, if anyone one is wondering, I had new fuel in the tank with marine Stabil.
I don’t know if the floats need adjusting. I am going this afternoon to AutoZone to borrow a compression gauge. Does anyone know what is an acceptable range for the compression on this motor? Thanks for letting me vent guys.

Had a similar issue on my 1995 90HP. Not sure if they are same but mine had a loose bracket where the electronics bolt up to. Was causing things to lose a ground. Had it out about 5 times since tightening that bracket up and never had that problem again. When it happen to me, wiggled things around and it eventually started about 10 minutes later.
