Hey everyone. i have a question about my lower gear unit. when i put the boat in gear(fullthrottle) i can spin the prop in both directions cw no sound ccw ratcheting sound. Are my gears stripped or is this normal. I was told that the prop should lock when turned ccw and the opposite when in reverse gear. Thank you.

check prop first. hub could be bad. remove engine cover have some one move controls see if linkage is moving. if so remove cable from engine. and move manually.

Thanks for the quick reply but im dumb, my dad got me paranoid i went and tried again but i put the throttle all the way down and it locks in both ways now forward and reverse. just bought the boat used to have a chaloupe with a 25 horse its my first foot pedal and throttle boat . thanks again
