Mercury Blueband 20hp

I have just acquired one of the above but it has a small problem. The gear shift spins around, but you can open the over and move it. Something seems to be displaced inside. Any ideas??????

Are you referring to the remote control box ?<br />If so, I have some diagrams I can send to you, before pulling it apart...

No - it's actually inside the engine. It is a tiller version.
