Mercury Classic Fifty ID?

The small identification plate on my engine is ravaged by salt water such that the first two characters are very difficult to read; that said, it appears to say: OB121232. It also identifies this number as a serial number. Is there an additional model number somewhere? Is the year and model inlcuded in 'OB121232' and if so, please, what year, what model?

It is a 1987 4cyl Merc Classic 50 (marketed as 45hp).

Not sure about the model number, but for ordering parts all you need is the serial number.

Nice motor.
