Yes, if cylinder as no or weak compression the fuel pump cannot operate correctly as it is drive by the crankcase pulses...

The boat runs fine at idol speeds but when I throttle up it dies after about 30 secounds , the compression is 90lbs on 1,2 and 4 and 30lbs on 3 so could this be the problem, the carbs are clean and all the lines.

Sorry but if that compression is correct that motor is in need of a rebuild as it will never run at that low of compression(30psi) and the pump is driven of #3 if i remember correctly.

unfortunantly you are going to have to rebuild with that big of a variance in compression and 3 being so low you are going to need to rebuild or get a new power head, i would rebuild now because if you run it like it is you run risk of something bending ir breaking causing more $.
