Mercury Control Box - Urgent help please!

Hello,

I have an 81 150 Mercury V6 that currently has this type of control box (but with PTT under handle):

Its seen better days, wiring is bad and I would like to replace it with this one:

Would this fit straight in or would I need a gender changer such as this:

Do the harnesses come with all required wiring to dash controls etc or is this extra?
