hello everyone,
its been a while for me on the board as i have finally moved to florida, whew, what a job!
well all settled in now, i tried to remove the tilt/trim motor from my outboard,i removed the 2 allen headed screws, i tried mercifully to remove the motor after i removed the bolts, it is stuck there and im afraid to put too much pressure on it , im sure the motor needs replacing,i have to bang on the motor to get the trim to even work up and down.
so after i tried to pry the motor up and out alot of oil came from the motor,i got scared and put the bolts back in,i then tried to lift the motor, now it dosent work at all,the motor grinds but wont go up or down,
i let the air out of the trim ,manually placed the motor on the transom saver( very heavy)and now its in the up position on the saver.
1) how does the motor come off?
2) how do i refill the new motor with enough oil?
3) how do i bleed the lines of air or pump them up?
4) should i buy a new motor and install it myself?
5) im worried about getting air and oil where they belong in the new motor or hydrolic cylinders once i replace the motor.
6) there is only 2 bolts holding the motor on right?

any help will be greatly appreciated.
im dying to get out on the water.

mike

Are you trying to pull the trim motor while the TNT unit is still on the motor? If so pull the whole assembly off and restart.
List a serial number and I can give more info, once you have the whole thing off.
DHP
