mercury force 9.9hp

Hi

I am thinking to buy a mercury force outboard 9.9hp around 4 years old
i heard this outboards are so bad that even mechanics do not accept them and the production has stopped.

does anybody have any experience with them?
are they really as bad as people say? is it possible to get spare parts?

I'm no Force expert but I don't think it is possible for any Force to be 4 years old.Perhaps 4 years of use.
I wouldn't buy a Force just because of the parts availability problems
look right here at iboats.About half the 9.9 don't have carb kits listed.Starter pinions appear to break regularly Don't know if they are available.
Mercury anounced a number of years ago they would no longer do new parts support.When the supply is gone it is gone.
