mercury hard starting wont run at wot

i have a 1980 mercury inline 4 cylinder 85 h.p. some times start up grate. bogs down at take off when i do get it going & go to wot it gos for short while it starts shuting back & dies. have to choke to get started back. clended carbs changed all gas lines. carbs full of gas getting plenty of fire. could crank seals cause this pro. thinks.

Here is what I suggest. To check the crank seals run the engine at 25:1. The extra oil will seal the seal's if they are a problem.<br /><br />If the symptom goes away or becomes less of a symptom..you will have found problem...<br /><br />TMD
