Mercury Kiekhaefer 500 50hp tattle tale

This is my first boat and really don't know much about them. I can't find a tattle tale hole. I have read that some of the early Mercury motors did not have one. I believe mine is either a 64 or 65. Would it have a tattle tale hole. Motor runs very well and does not seem to be getting hot. I ran it in a trash can today and I could see that water was being circulated.

post serial # it tells the year made. a mid sixties has a tell tale .from the back of the motor to your left down by lower spark plug follow the rubber hose to the other side of motor

The serial number is 1424617. I looked every place there is to look and can't find a pee hole or a tube that water would be discharged from. The only hole I found is for the exhaust. Could it be there isn't one?
