When I posted here about month ago about how to remove the shafts from the lower unit of a junked 85 hp, one of the members requested that I post my finished results. 'could be that the project itself evoked curiosity...a Mercury lower unit sliced off, turned upside down, and mounted atop a 250 pound (inert) bomb to make BBQ grill. Well, here 'tis...I'll make the base this week, which will be a 'themed' base, with Moon, Stars, Planets. the buyer will choose between gas and charcoal.
It will be finished in high temp clear. I know the 'headers' don't make any sense, but this is a 1940's Moon Rocket, and they used to depict those on their vessels. Smoke will exit up, through the lower unit, and out the back . The window area will separated from the fire chamber by a steel bulkhead I'll install.:)

Oh...the chip in the front of the skeg is from an Asteroid Strike...
