Mercury Lower unit won't come off

I have a middle to late 70's Mercury 402. For some reason the lower unit won't come off. I have the service manual and have done every thing correctly, but something is still hanging up. Can anyone help PLEASE???? <br />--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Did you take off the steering trim tab on the back of the cavitation plate? There are also two nuts above the prop, two nuts twards the front of the lower unit and up a little and one in the very front and up a little. Let us know how it goes.<br /><br />Craig
