first, welcome aboard

second, the mercruiser 470 (3.7 liter) ceased production in 1988. your 1994 Rinker would have had a 3.0 or a 4.3 or 5.0 or 5.7 in it from the factory.

either you have an older boat, or someone swapped in an older drive into your boat. do you have a picture?

I have a 1988 mercury 150 Blackmax XR2 and i bought a new 6 wire CDI stator and i noticed the color coded wires are different colors then the original mercury stator i also purchased a new CDI trigger and those wires match up color coded with my old trigger so why is the new stator different in color ?
