mercury model description

Where can I find out exactly what an engine is by it's model/serial number.... I recently bought one and know it is a 2004- 125hp/ 2 stroke- something tells me it may be one of those 2+2 engines that mercury made and no one likes... I have no idea and would like to know. :facepalm:
