I have a 1981 rinker bow rider with a 70 hp ob that has no compresion in top cylinder Instead of rebuilding this motor I am thinking of changing it out the mercury looks realy hard to work on verses an evinrude If I put an evinrude on this boat what all would I have to change I would also like to upgrade to a 90 hp with power trim and tilt

Well mercrude, there are several things to take into consideration. What is the year of your OB now?
What kind is it? Mercury, Evinrude?
The best bet would be to change the control box for sure.
It will have a harness that will have all of the wires for the new motor.
That way you won't have to run any new wires.
If your present motor does not have T/T, then you would most likely have to change the control box.
I'm sure someone else will jump in here so I will shut up.
