Mercury outboard wont run on full throttle

I have a 1984 mercury outboard 25 HP. it starts great idles fine and mid range runs fine when i go to full throttle it dies out but will restart with little effort can anyone help..

Welcome to iboats!<br /><br />Sounds like a fuel problem. Does the primer bulb get hard when you pump it up?<br /><br />While underway, when the motor starts to die out, have someone pump the bulb, if it picks back up, probably a fuel pump. Simple to rebuild and pretty inexpensive.

Thank you right on the money found out that the fitting on the new fuel tank and also the fitting on the hose were bad..I seen that the fitting that clips onto tank was a little off to the side even with the clip locked in...so thank you studlymandingo you just keep getting it wetter.........
