1963 was the last year for the white Mercs. If it's a '64 it'll have a decal on the face plate that mentions the 25th anniversary year. Somewhere on the motor block, likely on top, behind the flyhweel, there will be a 7-digit number stamped in the block in about 6-point type. <br /> Also, does the exhaust come out the propeller hub or from a triangular shaped hole near the trailing edge of the cavitation plate? 1962 was the first year of the through-hub exhaust on the Merc 500. Prior to that it had the exhaust exiting the cav plate... White Mercs were built from 1959 to 1963...<br />- Scott
