mercury power tilt/trim

1989 115 h/p s/n oc252348 mercury. my three wire hyd pump/ motor is bad. do i have to remove the motor from the transom to replace the tilt motor?

arima man<br />Some times you can get it by removing the starboard side bracket only but depends on your boat and steering. It may be just as quick to remove the engine and hang on a hoist.<br /><br />Kiwi
