mercury recalls

hello
i posted on here recently about some engine trouble from my 89 mercury 80 horse oil injected.
i took it to the shop and they had to replace the stator, trigger, and switch box. they said they have seen many of these same troubles on other mercs. from what they said and from what i read on here, has merc addressed this problem with any recalls or such? i just wondered from the electrical problems these motors seem to have.

You must have the red stator engine, Merc did have some problems early on ,but most where field mods. I use after market when replacing a red stator system.
