mercury spark problem

I've got a wellcraft boat with a 3 liter 130 hp mercury in it. Im not getting spark at the plugs but im getting juice from the battery to the coil. I sanded down the points in the distributor and that didnt do it. what else should i do to fix it?

Check the coil to see if its putting out. Re-check the points and be sure they are set to the correct gap.

The coil is getting the power. It stops at the distributor. I cant find what gaps they need set at in the manual. How many of them need set? i know the copper one that is under the distributor cap can be adjusted. Thanks

Bond, It sounds like you are talking about a MerCruiser Sterndrive. If so, you might post this Q in the I/O Forum.

Check for spark at the coil tower. If no spark there, either the condenser is bad, the wiring is bad, the timing is off or the coil or wiring is bad.
