Mercury Sport Jet 90 Red Stator Adaptor

Guys,<br /><br />Have 94 Merc Sport Jet 90.<br /><br />How do you troubleshoot the adaptor between the red stator and the switch box?<br /><br />All leads are grounded on mine.<br /><br />What the heck does this box do? I see that it converts the green/white & white/green wires to one blue wire and a ground.<br /><br />Any info will help. Ken

Does anyone know what this thing does?<br /><br />I have 180v out of stator, but checking wire after the adaptor only give 35 volts.<br /><br />Is this a big step down transformer?<br /><br />What it the DVA volts supposed to be after the adaptor on the wire going to the switch box?<br /><br />Ken
