Mercury Sportjet 90 won't start

I have a 95 Sport jet 90 that won't start. Prior to it dieing it was losing top speed, hesitating on hard acceleration(it almost seemed as though the engine was reving but the boat was hesitating) and running rough. It seems to have no spark at the 1st cylinder. I tried going through the trouble shooting section of my manual,the only thing i could come up with was a bad switch box?! I know the stator has been replaced and the stator resistance test seemed ok. Is the switch box a common problem or is it likely it is the stator again?Any help would be appreciated.<br />Thanks.

Check out the links below for some troubleshooting tips. If you lost spark on one cylinder, be sure to check the trigger too.
