I just bought a 1994 Rally Sport 15 ft it has a 90 hp Mercury sports jet 90 inboard which I can't find any information on. It cranked up ok in the yard a little slow like timing set to high the problem is took it out for the first test run and wouldn't start checked it out fuel was dripping from the carburetors. I pulled the plugs to check them and dry it out while cranking to check compression which is good it was pumping gas out the bottom plughole as fast as what seamed the pump could supply it. What I was wanting to know if anybody has heard of a fuel injection conversion or racing carburetor set up since it has a three carburetor setup now and the top ones seem to leak a little too.
Thanks for any help,
Robert

That was actually a "Force" powerhead. You will be just about best off to fix what you got.

If you have a serial number I can hook you up with a service manual.

rebuild tha carbs rebuild the fuelpump and never run it without the dealer flusher installed on the drive plate.just the flusher that mounts on the bulkhead wont work. if the carbs are right and not flooding and you run it on the consumer flusher there is a good chance you will learn how to replace the exhaust divider plate.
there is a tech bulliten on leanout and divider plate issues on the consumer flusher.it willallow water intrusion and wont be covered by any warrenty is about what it says. the dealer flusher is about 15 dollars or so.

If your talking about the flush kit sold at Mercury parts then it already has that if this is something that hooks to the bottom of the boat or the hose that is at the bottom of the engine in the back of the boat where it gose though the hull can you tell me where to get one. Sorry if I sound ignorant but this is my first boat.
Thanks for you help

Newbie also, bought Sea Pro with 90 Sportjet in Dec and want to run it on hose in driveway when weather(April) permits. Disconnected engine hose from thru hull fitting and attached fittings to allow garden hose to hookup directly to engine...how can I prevent backfiring causing damage if the engine (most likely) won't start up?
Do dealers run a second hose to wash away unburnt gases somehow...I'm new to all this and don't see why water from engine inlet hose won't hydro-lock motor if it doesn't start immediately. If I wait for the motor to start before opening water supply I fear the unburnt fuel will backfire...am I being overly cautios?
