I have a 16ft center console boat . If I inadvertantly shut the motor off while the shift lever is engaged in forward , when I try to pull it back to neutral to start the motor the handle will not move to the neutral position . This happened with the original throttle control as well as with a new one I had to have installed . With the original control I had to physically pull (very hard) to get the mechanism to move past the limit switch in order to start the engine . Once the engine fired up , the shifter would work fine . However , parts finally broke inside the unit and I had to have it replaced (under warranty) . Now the new control is doing the same thing . I try to remember not to shut down with it in gear but it seems I forget and have problems . Anybody experienced anything like this ? I'm worried that oncce my warranty runs out I'm gonna be haunted with this problem and the controller is pretty expensive . Any help would be greatly appreciated.
