Hey all! I'm in the process of sourcing a new to me out drive for my Gibson 36 houseboat equipped with a single 302 V8 188HP motor, MCM-A Transmission, and the TR/TRS drive (The big drive... 3 foot tall one)

My question is, is that the prop on my boat appears to spin counter clockwise for forward motion while the out drive I'm looking at is equipped with a prop that is setup to spin clockwise for forward motion. The forward/reverse functions with this setup are in the transmission and so the outdrive would be the same? If I were to swap the drives, I'd just need to install the appropriate prop so forward is forward and reverse is reverse, right?

The TR and TRS drives have no shifting mechanism and therefore can be run in either direction without issue.

Thought I should of said at the time but forgot, hope you haven't run it yet. They can run in either direction but the spiral rod needs to be changed. The rod is used to move lube from the lower to the upper section. If it is rotating in the wrong direction it will not move the lube up. Not an expert on the TRS but folks on Off Shore Only know them very well. They can advise how to modify
