Sorry -- I've sent this query already via the "contact us" button: First-time site user.

I have an old manual Blueband Merc 50 which is in good order, but since I'm also old and well used I am keen to power the start and tilt functions. I can salvage the starter, ring gear, hydraulics and associated electrics from a Merc 65. The ask is, can I transplant these bits to my Merc 50?

It's midwinter here in NZ so I have a couple of months to work on the motor before our good boating weather starts.

Thank you for any help.

Re: Mercury Transplants

Yes Kiwi, you can use those items on several mercs of that time period. You can even go the the bigger straight sixes too. Many parts directly interchange. :D  :p
