I have a 2001 24' Bayliner Trophy with a 150 Saltwater mercury outboard. Up to now my power trim has worked without any problems. But tonight a tried to raise it (it is full down right now) and I can't get it to move with either the throttle switch or the switch on the motor. Both batteries are fully charged and I can hear some kind of soft clicking noise when I push on the trim switches. The relays appear to be working I get good volts on the wires down line of them. Is there some kind of circit breaker somewhere in the trim system? Just trying to save the fishing trip tomorrow!!!

I have the same motor with the same problem. Have you tried cleaning the tilt and tirm toggle switch?

Also where is your switch on your motor? My mechanic said 8 of 10 it is the actual toggle mechanism.

Re: Mercury trim problem

I think I have it troubleshot down to the trim motor, I pulled it off and it will barely turn when you push the trim switch. I'm going to pull it apart and clean the brushes and give it a try. Thanks
