Yes and No....
All the V6 cranks will work in all the V6 blocks
The rod bearings are all the same size...
The Crank bearings are different sizes...
So be sure to measure the crank bearing gernals... if they aren't the same you are going to have to change the 3 center mains and the top
bearing.... Might have to change the top bearing carrier as well...If you use the right bearings for the crank you get it will work just fine...

It's pretty early... Are we talking Merc... Since that's really all I work on I sometimes forget there are OMC's out there... If it's an OMC you need to ask somebody else.. haven't played with one in a while...

If you have to buy bearings call around to some of the small shops that aren't dealers... They buy their stuff from ProMarine... Even with their markup they will still be less then half of what the Merc dealer is going to charge you...

Merc doesn't make bearings... they buy them and mark them up $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$... Pro Marine buys em from the same people.. so quality isn't an issue....

Re: Mercury V-150

Ya it's an 86 Merc V-150. I rebuilt the carbs and it seazed up. When it cooled down I was able to start it again but it had a rod knock. After taring it down I found #1 connecting rob barring had failed and scored the crank.

I use to work on Evenrudes & Johnsons in the mid 80's. This seems like a good engine if I can get past my rusty outboard mechanic skills.
