Hi all

been a decade or two since I had myself a big merc V6 smoker.
Picked one up on Wednesday there for my wee classic glastron CVX.
Too cheap not to buy in any condition and runs strongly and like a clock on the boat it was on.
Did a compression test on her before buying and pulled 115-118 across all 6.
Question is...is this ok ? Read at least 3 different opinions on what it should be. As far as I can tell between 110-125 seems to be the as new figure ? Any sure and certain opinions ? No real cause to doubt she is healthy after the way she sounds and performed on donor boat.
Thanks.

as long as all 6 are fairly even(within 13 psi of each other) and it idles, I wouldn't worry too much.

Thanks fella. Was thinking the same. The boat it was on was apparently good for 50 mph or just over. Kind of thinking she will be good. Always worry about these old things though.
Cant wait to get her on the wee classic glastron. Should be a hell of a machine I hope. Just as long as she isn’t quicker than the Campion, haha.
