mercury vs mariner

I have a 1990 model year 90hp mercury outboard that has a bad cylinder. To replace it I picked up a used 1990 90hp mariner outboard. They look like almost identical motors with the exception of the carberator. Can anyone tell me what the differences are?

They are the same(except for Sticker on cowling/paint color). If you have a Merc 90 EFI, you need a Mariner 90 EFI. As long as your Fuel input is the same, you will be OK.
