Trying to build a pressure tester for my DP-SM outdrive and need a metal gear lube fitting for a 3868912 outdrive.Where are you guys finding these as all in my area is a plastic fill rod.I seem to think that the rod needs 3/8 x 16 threads.

I've been wondering the same thing. Most people say they get it from a gear lube pump at local stores but all the gear lube pumps I see use a plastic fitting. I'll start searching for you.

While we're at it, care to describe how you are making your tester? I like seeing the different ideas people come up with.

the sea breze pump has a metal body and says will fit the volvo.
I was going to check the DYI section for volvo and steal one of the guys ideas for a tester.

Are you looking for the one that fills the drive behind the prop?

This one?

I'm sure that's what he's looking for. Bruce do you know or have experience with any local stores carrying something that will fit there? I have a plastic one but I don't know if it can handle the drive pressurized.

I have this one for filling my drive. Its around $10 so its a bargain as far as I am concerned. It also has an o-ring on it so you know its going to be sealed well for doing the pressure test.
