I had some rattle sounds that I traced back to the lever in the back of the motor that holds the cowling, and I put the motor tilt out one notch and that also seemed to alleviate some noise coming from the pin and spring at the adjustment lever there. I still have one concerning rattle sound, that is sort of a tin, high pitch mettle rattle that I hear, and only at a specific RPM, just when I go from an idle up the RPMs to just where the motor is beginning to go above a fast idle speed. It only rattles at this one RPM range with maybe 100 RPM variation, I really have to hit this spot almost exactly. I can not find the source of the rattle, it sounds mechanical and is exactly the same sounding every time. It is a very fast mettle rattle that sounds almost vibrating in nature, but certainly is a mettle rattle, it is not anything in the steering handle, cowling cover, throttle control - or an obvious - ha ha, well not obvious to me anyway. It is a much faster that any of the other rattle sounds I have ever heard a motor make, and I would call it half way between a rattle and a vibrating noise. I am concerned that this is inside the Power Head or Gears at some point, are there any mechanics that recognize this symptom?
