Ok, so I install the new version of Windows (8) so I can start testing my software for compatibility. Next up I install Visual Studios latest and greatest and UGH... First thing I get is a warning it's not "fully" supported on the new OS but will be by the time its a finished product. (Where have I heard that before?)

Next up, I'm told I have an incompatible application trying to run. Turns out its Microsoft Essencials, thier own anti-virus code. Grrrr....

Ok my way past the warnings the world will end and load up a project piece of code I've been working on and bam, 312 errors. Ok, this sisn't going to work at all, close the project for now.

Load a couple of older apps and while they sort of run the GUI is a disaster. Yeah, I really want to re-write all that again, NOT!

Of course while all this is going on I am getting a steady stream of email telling me as a partner I must get my apps ready for the new OS, or else...

Sigh, sometimes a guy just wants to cuss...

Re: Microsoft is driving me NUTS.

Complaining about compatability issues, on a new OS, that is not even released yet?

Sound's like the "good old days". ;)

Have another cup of coffee.

Re: Microsoft is driving me NUTS.

I installed the Customer Preview on a computer this past weekend to check it out.
I have one word - HORRENDOUS!!
I can see it for touch screens or tablets/pads, but not a real computer. It was clunky, ugly, and non-intuitive to navigate.
No thank you, I will stick with Windows 7.

int snprintf(char *destination, size_t n, const char *format, ...);

may help on buffer and memory....even attacks on array dbl atk is not nice,,essit prob uncovered
it's important to ensure that your code correctly frees only valid blocks of memory dd5x------------------------------------------
