just picked up a great deal on remanufactured controls for 60$
they work great but i have no idea what the little plug below the key on the box is for. it says 5 amp max. also where does the power for the box come into play. is it back in the motor or do i hook up the batt to the controls itself someplace.

The plug (3 wire) is your tach connection. Power comes from the motor connection.

Nice find for $60.

Teleflex will have one for your setup. You can probably buy one right here at iboats. There will be quite a few other internet businesses selling them too. If you are in a hurry, your local OMC/BRP dealer will have them.
