mid range, wot missfire, poor idling

i have an '89 evinrude xp150 that shuts off during direction change. it has done this since day one (thought it was nature of the beast) have had carbs cleaned/gone thru, use omc tuner periodically and tried the seafoam product - no help<br />also it has developed a "miss" at mid range and wot, however this is not constant just every few minutes

Sounds as though something is shorting out when you change "Direction" And now it's missing every once in a while also may comfirm that whatever it is, is getting worse. Eventually, it may die completely. Check all your wiring for loose connections or something up against something that may be causing a short. Check in the Motor compartment and around the Battery area.
