Midwest weekend excursions

I live in wisconsin and like to spend weekends on the boat. I have a couple of trips planned for this summer. Chicago, (See lakeland boating article from this month), Mississippi River run from Prairie du Chein to the Twin Cities, and the North Channel. I do most of this by trailering.<br /><br />Anyone done these trips and have suggestions or have any places they enjoy going. I am limited to the midwest primarily.<br /><br />Although summer is a ways off I need something to plan for and help me survive the winter months. <br /><br />Thanks

Im kinda parcial to the area because I live there. The La Crosse Area is wonderful. Its only about an hour north of the Praire Du Chein area thats by car but by boat its about 4 hours with all the locks and stoping to look around. send me an e-mail if you want to know some info. Skiuseme19@yahoo.com There is one motel on the river very nice with protected place to leave your boat in the water. There is a hotel going up this summer that will have a marina but I doubt it will be ready before august. again if you have any question drop me a line
