I remember reading about adding an addative to the oil to help clean out the milky oil from an engine that was getting water in the oil, but I can't remember what it was.
I've searched through the forum but can't seem to find the post.
Can any one refresh my memory?
I have a 1982 - 140 hp - mercruiser - 4 cyl
Thanks

Ayuh,..

You don't need anything but More fresh oil...
Change it,... Run it,... Change it again...

Re: milky oil clean up

if you have fixed the problem which i hope you have and just want to clean the motor out, you can get this stuff made by gunk called motor flush,1 qt. in place of 1qt oil,put the remaining amout of oil in motor to fill oil pan ,start motor and let it run for about 5 min. drain oil out if clean your good to go if not you may have to repeat this process a second time .i have done this before to one of my own motors before so i know it works well .good luck

Diesel Fuel.

Put about 3 quarts of new oil and 2 quarts of diesel fuel and a new filter. Run it at idle for about 10 minutes, drain and do again. Should look really clean after a couple times of that.
