Milky white fluid from exhaust

So I spent the last few days replacing the exhaust housing, gaskets, and water tube grommets in my 1983 Evinrude 15hp E15RCTA and its running good. I did notice that I have some kind of milky looking fluid that is coming from the upper exhaust outlet and drips down the outer exhaust housing. I took a few pics and will upload them to see why y'all think. I don't want to damage the engines internals. I plan on doing a de-carb tomorrow but won't run the motor if it is going to scorch the cylinder walls or run to lean from a water leak. image.jpgimage.jpg

Pull your spark plugs and have a look at them. If they have the same thing on them, I would say a head gasket leak. If not, then you might have a leak in the exhaust gasket. Check your temps on the engine with a pyrometer.

Ill check the spark plugs tomorrow and get back to yall. I did change the exhaust base gasket when I did the manifold change out. Could it have gone bad that fast.

It could be installed incorrectly.

Doesn't this base/exhaust gasket only go on one way?

Re: Milky white fluid from exhaust

Checked my plugs this morning and they both looks nice and clean. Don't look super wet just a little gas and oil residue on them. I dr carved the motor ad during that process I was getting tons of sludge that was coming from the upper exhaust. Not doing it so much anymore. I tested compression before the decarb and got 90PSI on both cylinders. after the decarb i got 92PSI on the lower cylinder and 100 on the top. I'm gonna continue to keep an eye on it. One problem that I seem to have developed now though is that the engine isn't pumping as much water as yesterday. Don't know what could have caused this to happen. I have replaced everything including the water pump kit, water intake and outlet hoses and grommets and also put in a new thermostat. I don't get it. Even when I rev it up a good bit in not getting a step flow. Could this be because the motor is up to temp and flow is going through the motor more then out of the tell tale? Thanks

That goop is from the recycled water and exhaust gas oil from running it in your tub. Nothing to worry about mate. Once you run her wot in the lake for a while it will only be an ugly memory. Now get out there and go fishing!
