I just installed a new input water hose kit which has a SS band securing hose to a plastic tube. The kit is supposed to minimize corrosion buildup and water flow restriction through the gimbal housing The plastic tube protrudes inside and I have secured it. The other end will be attached to bell housing with a tradition Bravo fastener. Unlike the drive bellows and exhaust bellows that have SS grounding or continuity clips, the SS hose band doesn't touch any part of the aluminum gimbal housing and it doesn't have any ss clips. Neither does the shifter linkage boot, which will have a ss band… Not bonding the SS band on the hose kit seems to be an failure waiting to happen considering that clips are on other bellows. In my opinion all metals should be bonded, clamps and bands included. I can insert a piece of SS sheet metal between the SS band and the aluminum gimbal housing to reduce galvanic action. I don't know why kit manufactures didn't include some sort of bonding clip. I will add a tie wrap to shift boot, in addition to ss worm band. Any suggestions are appreciated. I don't know why mfg would omit these clips. Restoring this old boat has take time but I want it done correctly and safely. THX!
