I am submitting a picture of the problem location on my trolling motor. I am a newbie to trolling motor repair so I was hoping someone on here could look at this and tell me exactly what the problem is, what needs to be fixed, and at least some idea of how to go about fixing it. Thanks in advance for any help!

Bill

Looks to me like the "slip-collar" has slipped. Loosen the 2 allen screws retaining the collar, back it off, greaze up the bearing, slid the collar back in place and tighten the slip-collar back up again, with just a bit of clearance to the bearing.

Not sure where this is on your TM (small pic), but when I put the collar back into position on my MK TM, I cleaned the shaft and collar mating surface, and put a drop of lock-tite on the shaft where the collar sits, then installed the collar, keeps it from walking up the shaft.
