Minn Kota 65mx with Mximizer Sysem 28 lb Thrust

I have an old Minn Kota 65mx with the Maximizer System 28 lb Thrust Weedless that is not working. My Mother purchased this thing for me back in like 2008 at a yardsale for a good bit and it quit about 4 years ago. I really liked that thing because it was super quiet and i could get right up in the weed beds with it. I have had it in an outbuilding for all these years and just remembered that i still had the thing. Any possible chance of getting it fixed? Nothing works. Does not light up, prop movement is a no go. I took the top off to see if i could see something simple like a corroded wire, a fuse blown, ect and all i see is this big control board like a computer motherboard. I did notice that there was ALOT of dirt in there on the main board. Wires did not look corroded they actually looked good. Should i connect it to a battery and start using a tester to see if there is power getting to head of the unit to begin with? I noticed the Alligator clips were very corroded and had rust on them. I will be cleaning them tomorrow as a start and will be doing what i can to clean the head off. I have not done anything to the prop area because i think the problem is up top where the Electric comes in. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Henry.
