Minn Kota 70SC Bow Mount latch mount

I purchased lower unit wouldn't work I thought 5/3 switch maybe replaced that still wouldn't work took lower unit apart found that brush holder was busted replaced that now it running but forward is reverse can you help me figure what I did wrong to make it run backwards

Sorry trolling motor the lower unit says not variable speed not for sure what that means

You assembled the unit 180 degrees from what it should be.

Are you talking about lower unit? And how do I fix

You assembled the brush holder or the lower unit housing wrong. It can only go together two ways. You did it wrong.
