I've confirmed that the plug at the bow has power, however when I plug in the trolling motor it has absolutely no functionality. The battery meter also doesn't light up.

By chance is there an internal fuse or breaker....or is the whole unit or circuit board dead? If there a way to confirm what is wrong with the unit?

I just got the unit with a used boat I bought, and per the serial number Minn Kota advises the unit is a: 62 pound thrust Auto Pilot motor from 1998.

Measure voltage wherever you can get at it beyond the plug. That would be the foot pedal or in the head. There is no internal fuse. Foot pedals do go bad. Also check the connector for the foot pedal to motor connection. Perhaps there is corrosion or damage in there. People tend to abuse anything with an electrical cable connected to it so inspect all cables carefully. The foot pedal should also not be left in the rain or wet conditions. Stow it when done for the day. If the foot pedal is bad a new one is about $75.

I would double check the plug like ST said. The battery idiot light should work even with the pedal unplugged. I just ran into that today getting an intermittant connection at the plug.
